Terms of Use

Last updated: 7 May 2026

Use of the app

OneThought is provided for personal journaling. You are responsible for the content you write.

Don't use the app to harm yourself or others. If you're struggling, please reach out to a trusted person or a local support service.

No guarantees on AI output

Daily prompts, weekly reflections, and photo-derived draft entries are generated by an on-device language model. Story Mode narration is constructed from your real data, but the wording is generated.

Drafts and prompts are starting points, not facts. Always review and edit before keeping. Never treat AI-generated text as professional advice.

iCloud and Apple

Sync uses Apple's private CloudKit. Apple's terms of service apply to that storage.

We do not operate a server. There is no account on our side, no login, no email collection.

Photos and locations

OneThought reads your photo library only with your permission and only for surfacing moments inside the app.

Place names on the map come from Apple Maps reverse geocoding; they may occasionally be inaccurate or generic.

If you remove a photo from the iOS Photos app, references to it inside an entry will simply stop loading — the entry text is unaffected.

Liability

OneThought is provided as-is. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, accidental deletion, iCloud outages, or third-party software.

If your journal matters to you, export your archive periodically (Settings → Privacy & data → Export).

Changes

These terms may change between versions. The What's New screen will note significant changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
